Getting started

Quick start

Build and preview your first Shipyard app in a few minutes, from the first sentence to a live preview.

1. Describe the product

On the home page, write one clear sentence: who it is for, what it does, and any must-have pages. Specific beats vague. “A booking site for a two-chair salon in Austin, with services, a gallery, and a contact form” is better than “make me a website.”

You can attach screenshots or references. They help Agent match layout and tone.

2. Watch the preview

Shipyard creates a project and shows a live preview while it builds. Click through the pages. Try the forms and menus. Switch phone and desktop widths when you want to check mobile.

If something is missing, say so in chat. Point at the part that is wrong when you can.

3. Iterate, then publish

Ask for the next change in the same project. Small, concrete requests land more cleanly than a new manifesto every turn.

When it feels right, publish. Paid plans can attach a custom domain.
